Defender
Resorts, Inc. recently established a
recovery plan for Chenay Bay Resort,
encompassing the hotel and timeshare operations
with a full service restaurant, in St. Croix,
U.S. Virgin Islands. Following the filing of
bankruptcy the resort, which was in distress was
acquired by the financial institution who in
turn contracted with Defender Resorts,
Inc. for their expertise in handling distressed
and compromised property. “Our plan is simple,
we want to bring the operations up to standards,
improving the vacation experience for inbound
guests, bring the budget in line with
expectations, and improve sales and rentals.
Distressed property is always a challenge, but
with our expertise we will turn the property
around, bring it into profitability and make it
attractive to both the owner/trustee as well as
to the future buyer,” commented Mark Westbrook,
President and COO. Defender's transition team will be
arriving at the resort within the week to begin
assessing the site, establish the operations in
the hotel, timeshare property and restaurant
while improving the marketing with a focus on
increasing occupancy, sales and rentals. Frank
Baker, Executive Vice President said, “We
anticipate success in our sales and rental
program. Our goal is to get the property off of
the rolls of the bank and turn it into a
thriving resort worthy of the investment of

Director of New Business.
Charlie’s
experience includes working as General Manager
for Defender Resorts over Turtle Reef
Condominium Resort during the past two years
where he was instrumental in directly overseeing
and coordinating with the Board of Directors on
several major renovations projects. Prior to his
General management position he worked directly
for Frank Baker, Executive Vice President for
Defender in the capacity of developing company
growth through new business leads and follow-up.
Before joining Defender, he served as CEO of a
specialized medical health services facility in
Maryland for 24 years before relocating to
Florida where he worked in sales and marketing
before joining Defender in 2007.

condominium associations along the Eastern
Seaboard that encompass; beach, golf and skiing
